Churches, mosques and any other religious classes do talk about filial piety, don't they? But who really repaid their parents? Sometimes, I really don't understand, why do adults think that their parents is a burden to them? When they were young, their parents provided them with wear, food, shelter. And now, they need to same. So why can't we give them what they want? In the past, parents tried to fulfill our needs and dreams, now the only thing they ask for is our care and love. It is much more easier than what they did 20 years back. There is a chinese saying ' a parent can take care of 10 children, but a children cannot take care of 1 parent'. Why is that so? The reason is absolutely simple. A parent can sacrifice anything, having the thought of their child in mind. But we cannot sacrifice anything, and don't bother talking about having the thought of its parent in mind.
A parent provided us with uncountable things, but yet we can't sacrifice a minute with our parents. Here's an example: When our friends lend us some money, we say to ourselves that we must return. We thanked our friends for having such a gracious heart to us for lending us their money. Example 2: Imagine that you are a beggar, somebody gives you a bun or some money. As a beggar, you will thank the person and wants to repay the person if possible. Now, look at the words in purple. Return and Repay. A small help, we want to return and repay. Then what about the big 'help' that our parents gave us? No need to return and repay? This is practically unfair! A small help from others we want to return and repay, a enormous love and care from our parents is a burden? It makes no sense, doesn't it?
The thing is that, we all know what to do. And it's to be filial to our parents. The only thing now is to see whether we put our words into action. Children when young always say that they will be filial to their parents when they grow up but in the end it is the other way round. What else can we say? The only thing to say is that, do not speak to early as future are hard to predict. Just follow your heart and do what is right. Repaying our parents is definitely no wrong! Remember no wrong! This is what we ought to do!
